Nestor and Bopanna in Sydney Final!
Daniel Nestor and his new doubles partner Rohan Bopanna from India have reached the doubles final of the Apia International tournament in Sydney, Australia. They will take on Jean-Julien Rojier and Horia Tecau on Saturday. Nestor won the final last year with former partner Nenad Zimonjic against Bopanna and his former partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi. They plan to play together in the Australian Open beginning next week

Senior Player News
As the New Year begins and you have aspirations of playing senior tournaments in 2015, and perhaps representing Canada at the Senior World Team Championships, please be reminded of the following. To secure a Tennis Canada year-end ranking, you must play the Steve Stevens Senior Nationals in Montreal August 16-22 at the Mount Royal Tennis Club, Cote St. Luc Tennis Club and other satellite clubs, as well as one other designated tournament. The ranking guidelines can be found here.
In order to play any Tennis Canada or provincial senior tennis event, you must be a member in good standing with your provincial association.
Registration is now open for the Eastern Canadian Women’s Seniors (all age categories) at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club in Toronto, and the Eastern Canadian Men’s Seniors (ages 35-55) at the Donalda Club in Toronto. Both events will take place March 18-22, 2015.
The entry deadline is March 2, 2015 so please make sure you submit your entry on time. We are excited and fortunate to be back at these two outstanding facilities for a second year in a row. Players are encouraged to enter online at the following links

The indoor season will continue in Victoria with the Western Canadian Indoors for men and women (all age categories) at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre and Panorama Leisure Centre from April 1-5, 2015. Tournament organizers are planning an amazing event for you. The highlight is sure to be the tournament social that is being hosted by the Governor General of BC at the Government House in Victoria. Cote de Liesse in Montreal will then close out the indoor season by hosting the Eastern Canadian Men’s Super Seniors (ages 60-85) from April 9-13, 2015. Entry deadline is March 23 for this terrific men’s super seniors’ event in Quebec. To enter online, please click here.

Wilson/Mayfair ITF #2
The second ITF event of the year is scheduled at the Mayfair Clubs in Toronto: February 13-16, 2015. This Grade 2 ITF ranking event usually attracts a tough field with strong international flavour. Entries close on January 28, and you must have an IPIN to enter. To enter online, please click here.
U18 NationalSelection #1 Main Draw at Rexall Centre This Weekend
The OTA is hosting the Boys U18 National Selection Main Draw #1 at the Rexall Centre this weekend, beginning Friday. Singles and Doubles. COMING EVENTS
There has been a new policy added to the “Rules of the Court for 2015”. Players who withdraw late or fail to complete all required events in a tournament will receive penalty points which can lead to a player being suspended. Click here for more details.

Four times per year Tennis Canada sends lists of top juniors and top Open players to the ITF which is used by the ITF for determining their acceptance lists (main, qualifying, and alternate) for entry into junior and professional events.
